Cathy Watson – Physiotherapist

I set out, with caution, to try CrossFit and was incredibly, pleasantly surprised!
Why so cautious? Being a physiotherapist, I am very conscious of how someone is moving, the biomechanics of the movement and how it is executed. Staying away from senseless injury was very important to me and since I had never set foot in a CrossFit gym before, I was a little worried that people were going to be pushing me, possibly beyond my limits.
Nothing was further from the truth. I had excellent teaching from Jesse. She has a great eye and picked up on every little shift in my body. I never felt pushed … only encouraged and supported! Every workout was fun and challenging but not beyond my ability. I felt great after my workouts and even though I would experience the expected muscle soreness, never was there any joint pain. Everyone smiles in this gym, nobody poses and everyone is friendly and helpful. I’m continuing here, happily, and from my great and positive experience, will help educate my fellow physio peers.
