I am 35 this summer; I can’t say that I am one of those competitive people. I found CrossFit after a long period of inactivity while starting a new business. I was instantly addicted. In one hour I got strength training, cardio conditioning, flexibility, balance and coordination focused training. Check off effective, but to my surprise the group I was training with was incredible supportive. The loudest cheers were for the last one to finish the workout (WOD).
It’s easy to be intimidated walking into a CrossFit gym, as you will be warmly greeted with the fittest people you have ever met in your life. I can’t say enough about the coaching, their knowledge is seemingly unlimited but I am most impressed by their determination to keep you safe and to support you at whatever level your fitness.
After 8 months of CrossFit I got pregnant, and now 6 months in, I do CrossFit Lite with Deanna three times per week. She helps me tailor every WOD to my ability and I modify the intensity to my comfort each day. It is my favorite part of my week and I always feel better than I did before the WOD, I intend to continue until the end of my pregnancy.
I would recommend CrossFit Vernon to anyone that wants to include fitness in their life. You can do it at any level, any age and any ability.
