Here’s why having a coach is a fast track to results.
The world is full of shiny and distracting fitness trends. With access to content on social media, blogs, YouTube, podcasts, you name it… It can be hard to sort through what is true, what is false, and what is valuable and applicable. Add to that, this content seemingly goes on forever. Diet, exercise, and nutrition are hard enough to figure out without constantly being bombarded by new trends.
This is where your coach comes in.
For the same reason you hire a plumber or a mechanic, you have also decided to hire a coach. A coach is an expert at getting you the results you’re after. We coaches make it our job to sort through the chaos of emerging fitness trends and the complexity of diet and exercise and focus on tried and tested methods to get you the results you’re after.
Your coach is here for you to provide safe, effective, and efficient workouts. They are also there to prescribe exercise modifications and nutrition outlines that are specific to you and your needs as an athlete.
Your coach knows exactly how much is the right amount. Too little and you will be slow to progress; too much and you could be at risk for a setback.
Without the help of a coach, you could just be guessing at these important training details.
We love the CrossFit method because of how effective it is. With consistency, it can get almost anybody 95% of the way to their goals.
For that next 5%, you might consider it’s time to “put in a little extra”.
This is where your coach comes in. Your coach is the expert that’s already in your corner and ready to guide you forward.
At CrossFit Vernon, our coaches want to talk to you every 3-4 months, one-on-one, in person. We want to ask about your goals, review your progress, and give you the best possible prescription to achieve those goals.

What we DON’T want is for you to have to guess.
We don’t want you to try fad diets just because someone else is doing them. We don’t want you to drink a gallon of milk a day just because you saw it online (truth: this was a CrossFit fad circa 2008. I did it, and I regret it.). We don’t even want you to do what everyone else in the gym is doing because their program is theirs. It’s not yours. Train in a group, tailor individually: This is what our coaches do.
